The Stage

The whole world is a stage, and if you don't take
yourself to seriously you can get a lot of enjoyment
watching the characters on this stage. When Al
Gores movie "Inconvenient Truth" came out a couple
years ago my church decided we needed to see it. So
the church set up the projector to show the movie.
Even tho I have been the Sound Engineer for the last
6 years I refused to take part in this liberal propaganda.
I told folks who asked why, that I would wait and see.
I didn't believe a word AlGore said. It's starting to
look like I was right. We are having one of the coldest
winters on record. The planet may be going into a
mini ice age. The earth has NOT been getting warmer
for the last 10 years. But the global warming folks have
made up their minds and some have even said that
because the earth is cooling just proves that the
earth is getting hotter faster. Go figure. I am ready to
be proved wrong cause I like the warmth a lot better
than the cold. That's one of the reasons I moved to the
south.
It was great to see that skill in doing your job is still
appreciated. That pilot that landed that large jet in
the Hudson river is an example of someone who takes
pride in doing a good job. I noticed he was old enough
to have acquired great skill. It won't be long though
before the airline asks him to retire. They'll say he is
too old to fly passengers. Ask the 155 people who
survived that water landing if he is getting too old.
The airlines might let him fly freight. If I ever fly
commercial again, I want him as my pilot. Socratease8

Serenity

I have added a couple new pictures and video
to my Blog. The video is of a creek that
runs across my property. It is a place where
I go if I need to do some serious thinking.
The picture is of the small airplane that
I spent many hours building. I sold it to a
fellow in Michigan who finished building it
and got it flying. In the air is also a great
place to do some serious thinking. I will
admit that most of the thinking while in the
air is where in #@*&@ am I going to land this
hummer if the engine quits. ALWAYS have a
spot within glide range to land. I have been
in an airplane that ran out of gas because
of a leak. We made it to the airport which
was 4 miles away because of altitude
maintenance and great flying skill. I like
to do the unexpected in my life because I
might not get another chance. When I take
my last breath I would like to look back
and say WOW what a ride. I will not be sorry
for the days that I didn't go to work and
the things that I didn't do . Socratease8

IT'S A NEW YEAR

I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year.
I don't usually do New Years resolutions but
this year I will make an exception. I want to
lose about 30lbs as soon as possible and
for sure get rich. I'm not asking much, but I
will keep positive thoughts about it.

This year I would like to hear "Green" and
"Carbon Footprint" a lot less. These are little
phrases that mean give me your money. If
The government can make us feel guilty
about these two words then they can lift
our wallets a lot easier. I don't do guilt
anymore. I now avoid shopping at places
that say they are green. I know it's going
to cost more. I heard one guy say that
every time he hears the word "Carbon
Footprint" he wants to go out and burn
a tire. I feel almost the same way.

This year I will probably continue to point
out the fallacy of man made Global
Warming. I would hate to freeze to death
while I waited on global warming. But I
will try to do it in a nice way, until it is
time to not be nice. Socratease8

FORGIVE YOURSELF

We had a burning bowl service in church Sunday.
That means we wrote something on a piece of
paper that we wanted to get rid of in the new year.
I wrote that I wanted to get rid of 30 lbs of fat in
the first two months of 2009. I put that note in the
burn pot and let it go. SO I should be 30lbs lighter
in a couple of months. After we burned our notes
we marched back into the church, and as we went
back into the sanctuary we reached into a box
that had Angel cards with a message on it for
us. The message that I got was "Forgive Yourself".
WOW how important is that. If we can't forgive
ourselves then how can we expect others to forgive
us. If we can forgive ourselves then it doesn't matter
if others can forgive us. There are times when I
feel I need forgiveness for just being alive. I have
done things that I am not proud of and need
forgiveness for. I learned a while ago that you
can't change the past so forgiveness may be the
only option. If you can forgive yourself then you
don't have to change the past. The past is just
a memory that doesn't control your "NOW" or
your "FUTURE". If you can't forgive, then how
can you be forgiven. I FORGIVE YOU AND ME.

Global Comedians

I don't know where to start with this post
the environdummies are at it again and
the vote count in Minn. has gone pretty
much as I expected for Al Franken. Votes
just seem to show up when Al needs them.
Who knows where they came from. Some
probably came from the graveyard. Some
are probably just duplicates of previous
votes. Vote soon and vote often as the
democrats are famous for saying. So it
looks like Minnesota will have a comedian
for a senator. They probably deserve it.

The environdummies must be comedians
also. They are now saying that the fact
that the earth is cooling is proof that the
earth is warming at a faster rate than
previously suspected. What kind of
nonsense is that. The earth has been
cooling for some time now and some of
the weather scientist are predicting that
we are going into a new small ice age.
Just last week it was reported that there
are over 600 scientist who use to believe
in global warming now do not. These are
scientist that use to agree with the UN.
As I have said before, global warming is
a huge SCAM just to get more tax dollars.

Corruption Is Back

It has been fun watching the democrats squirming
over the corruption that is going on in Illinois
with the Governor. Obama said his administration
would be transparent but he doesn't want to talk
about the problems in Illinois. I expected these
kind of problems with this group of Chicago
politicians. I am afraid it's going to be hard
to keep the corruption out of the White House.

Old Timers

There are some benefits to growing older besides
avoiding the obvious alternative of not growing
older. For one thing we proved that we were wrong
when we were 18 and thought we knew it all. So
you 18 year old folks remember that the next time
you think you know more than your parents. The
time will come if you live long enough that you will
know better.

Old folks have seen a lot of stuff in their lifetime
and know what to worry about and what not to
worry about. When I was younger I didn't worry
too much about being attacked because I could
handle myself pretty good. Now that I am older
and not quite as physically able I still don't worry
about being attacked. I am good friends with
Smith&Wesson 38cal. Same result as when I
was younger just a lot less work. We old folks
are always looking for less work. So don't make
the mistake of thinking an old person is
defenseless.

One thing that I enjoy, being a more mature
individual is just sitting back and watching people
do their thing. I can usually tell how things will turn
out if they keep doing what they are doing because
I have seen it before. Some folks don't know that
if you keep doing the same thing over and over that
you will get the same result each time. But as they
grow older they will do that less and less and
finally realize that there is another way.

Well that's all for today. I was tired of politics
so I just wrote some random thoughts that was
floating around inside my oversized.. oops I mean
