Serenity

Sometimes when the stuff of the world starts
to get real intense a little walk into natures
splendor can calm the soul. I started this
day in my workshop building a Native American
style flute and after tuning it for about an
hour I decided I needed a break. The wind was
blowing quite hard and I could hear the water
flowing in the creek. It was like a magnet
drawing me to it. I took my camera and got
this video. As you can see spring has sprung
here in central Tennessee and we have a lot
of green. But it stays green year round here
with the Hemlocks, Mountain Laurel and Holly.
The Mountain Laurel will be blooming soon. It
lines almost all my paths through the woods and
is a pleasant sight to behold.

At the top of this post is a picture of a
Mountain Laurel. I wanted to put it after my
last paragraph but couldn't get it to work.

The boy who would be president has been on
shaky ground since his inauguration and he has
failed to get his sea legs. I'm afraid that he is
going to sink us all before he does. Once we
start down that financial ruin hole we won't stop
until we hit bottom.
The cap-and-trade legislation that he wants will
cost our industry $2+ trillion dollars and put many
out of business. Lots more in the unemployment
lines, lost homes and cars, loss of college
education's and no paid vacations. Bummer. This
cap-and-trade thing is suppose to stop global
warming that is man made. NOT going to happen.
There is NO global warming caused by man.
Almost every day there are scientist jumping OFF
the global warming wagon. Today I got an e-mail
saying that 59 more scientist now say there is NO
manmade global warming. That makes the count
since Gores lies about global warming, 700
scientist who say it is not a true story. These
scientist are some of the top weather scientist
in the world.
Some of these global warming alarmist are worried
about Greenland becoming green again. Hello, wake-
up folks before you lose the farm. Socratease8

Cleo

Sometimes a video is just too precious not to
share. The family has talked about this scene
many times. When Cleo's name is mentioned this
scene is always mentioned.

Cleo was a very special kind of man. He never
saw a kid that didn't fall in love with him at
their first meeting. He would always take them
for a ride if the tractor would start and in
an earlier time he let them ride the horses,
always there to protect them of course.

Cleo never married and he stayed on the family
farm until he passed. Cleo was in his early
80's when he died. He fought in the Second
World War and got severe frost bite on his
feet at the "Battle of the Bulge" and had to
be carried to some of his battles. He had
Diabetes an could have lost his feet during
that time. Cleo smoked "roll your own" cigarettes
until he was 70, then quit cold turkey. the
damage had been done so he wore an oxygen
tube, starting when he was in his 80's.
Cleo had some of the best honey in the county
and would use it if he took too much insulin.
He was a small man in stature but a Giant
of a man where it counted. He helped take
care of his mother and a couple of his brothers.
In all the years that I knew him I never heard
a bad word spoken of him. Cleo is missed, God
speed Cleo. Socratease8

Trust

This video happened after my last video at the
little waterfalls. Gee-Gee walked with me to the
falls as she does almost every time I go there.
She loves to walk the trails in our woods and
sometimes will talk about it for several minutes.
You can see the love and trust in her eyes and
if you look real close you can see her soul. There
is no judgment there. To hear her tell it, she has
had the best time of her life. My little four legged
friends talk a lot, and I always learn a lot when I
listen. Socratease8

Lets take a walk

The video pretty much says it all. Everywhere
that I said my or mine I should have said ours.
My wife of almost 49 years also uses the trails
and helps maintain the paths. These trails and
water are a great asset to our peace of mind. It's
a great place to relax and forget the problems
of the world. Socratease8
