Grand Visit

What a face. Grand daughter from
the Southwest.

Standing next to some 12ft sunflowers.

Me, my son and grandson.

My granddaughter invented a game called
Forest. It always started at my little cabin
and we would light the candles in the cabin
then wander off through the woods on the
trails. It would last about 15 minutes.
Then back to the cabin to blow the candles out.

She tried to hide on one of our trips
through the forest.

The creek and the bridge were favorite spots.

Grandparents and grandkids.

God And Me

This is the beginning of the trail
that leads to God.

A little further down the path.
What is that Presence between me
and the cat? Enlarge this picture
to see the Presence better. If this was a
spider web I should have walked through it. That didn't
happen. If it was something on my lens, it sure
cleared itself off very quickly without my
help as witness the next picture taken about
20 seconds later.To me it's still a mystery.

What a great God place. A good place to
spend a night and hear the sounds of God's
little creatures.

The sound of water flowing is great to
sleep to.

As I walk back toward our house I come
to our Japanese garden and a resting place

A few Black-eyed Susan's to end
my journey today.

ON HOLY GROUND

This little church is called Sandlins Chapel.
The land that it sets on was donated by a great
uncle of mine. It is a Methodist church. My
parents went there when I was a baby. This
church is in Bremen Alabama near Bug Tussle
Alabama.

This is the Unity church that I have attended
for the last 8 years. I may be leaving this
church soon for greener pastures.

This is a beautiful little Presbyterian church
out in the country here in middle Tennessee.
There are thousands of churches in Tennessee and
each has a story to tell.

This is Columbia Hill Baptist church. It is
a few miles from our home and sits in a
beautiful valley.

This is the Nazarene church in Monterey
Tennessee that we attended a few times.
This was the church that my father-in-law
attended when we moved in with him.

This is the First Baptist Church in Monterey
Tennessee. It has been around longer than I
have. Beautiful old church with a large attendance.

This Baptist church is at the entrance to our
neighborhood. I will end this blog with the
lyrics to

On Holy Ground.

When I walked through the doors I sensed his presence
And I knew this was a place where love abounds
For this is a temple the God we love abides here
And we are standing in his presence
On holy ground

We are standing on holy ground
And I know there are angels all around
Let us praise, praise God now, praise him anyhow
For we are standing in his sweet presence
On holy ground

In his presence I know there is joy beyond all measure
And at his feet sweet peace of mind can still be found
For when we have a need he is still the answer
Reach out and claim it for we are standing
On holy ground

We are standing on holy ground
And I know there are angels all around
Let us praise, praise God now, praise him anyhow
For we are standing in his sweet presence
On holy ground

High Flight

High Flight

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of—wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air. . . .

Up, up the long, delirious burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew —
And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

John Gillespie Magee, Jr

I took this picture on one of my trips to
Florida. I was above these low clouds looking
for some smooth air.

I must be getting old. I posted this picture and
poem last year. My next birthday I will be 70.
That is a bit hard to believe but it's true. If
you live long enough you will reach this age.
Once you get flying in your blood it's hard to
get it out.

Don't leave home without it

This medallion is the Phoenix. Unless
you are the Phoenix and can raise yourself
from the ashes then you need one of these
little equalizers when you leave home. Lots
of young ladies seem to take their brains
out of their heads and go out walking or
jogging on lonely trails or roads by themselves.
That is beyond dumb in this age.

This little piece is a 22 magnum and
will stop almost anything alive. It
will pass through a flak jacket or
so I've have been told by a state trooper.
I paid about $200 for it. It's probably
a bit more now. You can save the state
a lot of money for search and rescue
if you have it on you when you go jogging.
It's a good way to take out a perpetrator.
No court cost or jail time required.

The 22 magnum is a small pistol and
will fit in your pocket. Easy to get
to when you need it. You can also
chamber a couple of bird shot shells
for dogs if you need to. Great little
equalizer. You will need a carry permit
to carry any of these weapons even tho
the US Constitution says you can carry.
Seems redundant to me.

This little gun is one of my favorites.
It is always in my pocket. It shoots a
22 short so doesn't have a lot of stopping
power but it will get your attention long
enough for me to finish the job with my
knuckles. I don't leave home without it.

This derringer is my latest acquisition.
It shoots two 410 shotgun shells or two
45 colt shells. It is a very powerful
gun that hurts your hand when you shoot
it but will stop anything. No worries.
I let cloudhands shoot it to see if she
could handle it. She did great. You read
about young ladies being attacked almost
daily. I would love to see them packing
heat when they are alone. There are age
limits for carrying weapons. You need to
be 18 or older to protect yourself with
a firearm. If you are younger hire a
bodyguard or stay home. I know there are
folks out there that don't want you to
protect yourself but I try my best to
ignore them. They do need to know that
I will have at least one of these weapons
on me at ALL times. I have little tolerance
for people who want me to lay down and die.
I'm getting older and I can still protect
myself with my knuckles but I am getting
a bit lazy so I will use one of these weapons,
maybe all three to save myself from exertion.

HAS ANYONE SEEN AL GORE??

There are a lot of folks looking for Al Gore.
They want to remove from him his "Peace Prize"
and his "Oscar" for his inconvenient lies.

This is the second fairly large snow
here in Tennessee in the last week.
We got about 5" over night and it is
still snowing. We have probably had
more snow this winter than we've had
in the last 10 years combined.

Yesterday on Fox news they interviewed
Dr. Michio Kaku whom I have always had
a great deal of respect for, about the
snow in D.C.. As far as I'm concerned
he was wrong in his conclusion. Now I
know most people would not argue with
a theoretical physicist, but when they
are wrong you have to. He said because
of global warming that there was more
moisture in the air. There is always
a lot of moisture in our air. It's called
humidity and makes up about 99% of our
greenhouse gases. When it is cold enough
it can convert to snow. D.C. didn't have
snow in the winter during our warmest
years in the 90's.

This is my poor old pick-up. It hasn't
been on the road this winter. Robert
F. Kennedy Jr. made a speech last year
stating that the reason there is no snow
in D.C. was because of global warming. I'm
not sure to what he will attribute the snow
that is now on the ground in D.C.. If
it wasn't so expensive we could just ignore
these silly people. But we need to fight
the stupid idea of man made global warming
with all we've got because it will bankrupt
us all.

These gals know how to deal with global
warming, with a short nap. The man who
was behind the global warming e-mail
scam now says there has been no warming
since 1995! We have been lied to big time.
If you have been following my blog for
a while, you have known the truth.

Where is that Global Warming??

Our bird feeder looks a little lonesome in our
4+" of snow and sleet.

Our Hemlocks are heavy with snow and ice.
They almost close the trail

This is the beginning of our trail to
the cabin.

This is a path to our Japanese garden
where I have my wind chimes hanging.

Our Japanese garden is a bit incognito
for this viewing.

I can't find the door to Narnia.

This video speaks for itself. This
is my favorite place on our land.

This is our little meditation cabin.
There is no evidence of global warming
here. I am starting to get a bit suspicious
of what Al Gore has been telling us. Be
sure to click on the photos for a larger
view.

My friend Chuck Gazlay has a paradise in his front
yard. Look at these multiple waterfalls . This has
been a cold winter so they have frozen. But not for
long. It has already been in the mid 50's for a week.
Be sure you click on the picture for a full size view.

Iceberg in Lake Michigan

Icebergs in Lake Michigan sometimes have stripes, formed by
layers of snow that react to different conditions.
Blue stripes are often created when a crevice in the ice sheet
fills up with melt water and freezes so quickly that no bubbles form.
When an iceberg falls into the lake, a layer of water can
freeze to the underside. If this is rich in algae, it can form a
green stripe.
Brown, black and yellow lines are caused by sediment, picked up
when the ice sheet grinds downhill towards the lake.

More ice in Lake Michigan

Are you starting to get the idea that maybe global
warming is not happening?

This is one of the coldest winters in Lake Michigan
history. The waves freezes as soon as they hit the
air. If you still believe in global warming you
need to do some research.

Painting the Sky with light at sundown

When your faith starts to wear thin and
you wonder where God is... Take a look
outside at sunset and He may reveal Himself.
I know there are folks who don't believe
in a God but I don't have that much faith.
Now I'm not saying that folks will be punished
if they don't believe but they will miss out
on a lot of the wonders and miracles that
happen daily. I have personally had some
firsthand information from the Man Upstairs.
BE SURE TO CLICK ON PICTURE FOR FULL SIZE.

As a follow up on my last post here is more
headlines from the Drudge Report about the
weather. If you are still a believer in the
scam of global warming maybe this will help
to set you free. GOD DIDN'T MAKE NO TRASH!!

Warming ??

When I look at pictures like the one above
I am convinced That God knew what he was
doing when He created the universe. This
is a sunset from a friends back deck. Be
sure to click on the picture to see it full
size.

I know it's popular now to say the earth is
warming, but a close look at the Drudge
report
paints a different picture at this time.

17 have died so far in India from the cold.

The forth victim has died in Chicago from
the cold weather.

Forecaster's say that the coldest weather in
decades is heading for North Carolina.

Britain is facing one of their coldest winters
in over a hundred years.

Florida's oranges may be in danger from the
cold

The global warming nuts say that this is just
proof that global warming is happening. I don't
know how many years the earth will have to
cool before that great weatherman Al Gore
and the other global warming alarmist will just
shut up. It has been cooling for over ten years
already!

The amateur that is in the White House wants
to tax the common man out of existence with
a Cap and Trade bill to cool the earth down. I'm
here to tell you that the cold kills more people
and critters that the warm ever will. It will be
nice when common sense carries the day again.
We just have to be patient.

These sites have been added to the Drudge report
in the last day. Take a look.

want to debate the global warming scam.
